THIS WEBSITE …

… is about to be reformatted.  The player (currently in the top right of every page, unless you are reading this after the end of the week) will be removed from most pages and will be found exclusively from the Menu at the top of the page, in the MUSIC tag, under Audio Tracks.  It will continue to be updated every few weeks, as will the details of what is in it.

The reason for this change is that many people found it strange that the tracks in the player didn’t relate to the actual page they were reading, and therefore didn’t necessarily apply to what they were reading about.  So, after the end of this week, the tracks in the player itself will continue simply as a very general selection of my music serving as an introduction.

In order to give samples of work which are relevant to the page being read, we shall be adding more embedded links to SoundCloud tracks which are specifically related to that topic.  So, for example, the new CHRONOMETER page has a quick link to examples of CHRONOMETER music.  See here, and then you can hear CHRONOMETER.

For a few days, and especially overnight on Thursday 24 September and through Friday morning, all the pages on the site might look rather strange and unfinished.  We apologise for this, but thought it preferable to taking the whole site down for a few hours.  We’ll get things sorted out as quickly as possible, though it will take time for all the music to be put in place and every photograph repositioned.

The buttons linking to FaceBook, Twitter, Spotify and so on will be moved to the footer of every page.

Waterloo

For the graphic for this blog, I am using a photograph of Claire Lyth’s model for her set of the final scene in THE DRUMMER BOY OF WATERLOO.  Megg and I find the design very exciting.
