THE NEW CHRONOMETER COVER …

… is on the way.  John sent me an idea yesterday.  As always with his work it was exciting art, interesting and relevant.  But he hadn’t been sure about it and I agreed: it was a good idea for a cover, but not quite right yet for CHRONOMETER no. 3.  However, when working on a piece of art (music, writing, graphic) the ‘no’s’ are often as useful as the ‘yes’s in showing the direction.  So, within a few days, I confidently expect you to be able to see something special.  And then we can have the tracks uploaded as an EP to iTunes, Spotify and so on.  (By the way, it’s interesting that this cover is taking longer than usual  As you may have picked up, the musical ideas were inspired by John’s private exhibition earlier this year, WORMWOOD.  That may have made getting into the world portraying the music easier, but the distillation of one image more difficult.)

Otherwise, I am meeting up with Megg today to discuss the ongoing arrangements for DRUMMER BOY (and thinking about future works, as well) and then to sign a contract at Novello’s.  This evening I am off to the Yellow Collective and look forward to an event which I enjoyed very much last year.  These guys really know their stuff and are also so friendly to talk to.

PS Don’t forget – there will be a major change in the layout of this site from tomorrow mid-day and it might look a bit odd in the morning.
