Concert Music

David’s concert music spans orchestral, choral and vocal pieces as well as several chamber works.  Most of this music is published by Novello & Co, and some recordings are available as downloads from this website.

Listen to examples from the four STRING QUARTETS.

Until a couple of years ago, while busy with committee work for BASCA on behalf of composers and songwriters (including chairing the Classical and Jazz Executive Committee), David for a few years concentrated on theatre and production music, and projects with schools.  He intends to return to concert writing in the near future; the latest commercial recording of his work is the fourth String Quartet.  But David Stoll is also interested in crossing the lines between different genres, and CHRONOMETER tracks are often scored as contemporary classical pieces before being developed  in an electronic sound world.

Available recordings include CHAMBER MUSIC, THE SHAKESPEARE SUITE, THE FAIR SINGER and all the QUARTETS (see the individual works below for recordings).  Scores and parts are also available from the publisher.
