Description
My first STRING QUARTET is a meditation on the Mandukya Upanishad, a primary text of Advaita, the philosophy of non-duality. The music is in one continuous movement. The three known states of consciousness (waking, dreaming and deep sleep) are heard in sequence, each of them appearing from and dissolving into the fourth, the transcendent.
