BUSY ORCHESTRATING RIGHT NOW …

… and neglecting this blog: sorry.  The brass pieces are all finished, ready for the recording in May, and Riverrun tells me PHAETON will have a cover soon, and therefore a release date.  So there will be news, in the near future.

Meanwhile, the orchestration of the opera is going well, but you never really know until you hear the band playing it. And then there’s the matter of balance with the voices and – well, it’s a big, complex job but it’s one that I love.

The eclipse today was only visible in North London as a darkening of already dark skies.  And now, this afternoon, they are clear and beautiful.  Well, maybe next time the bucket of water and the pin-hole cardboard camera and the other specialist digital technologies will be required.
